At Home in Cleveland; Day 12, May 9

This was the perfect day and place to do a pit stop equivalent for an RV trip. Thanks to Mike and Katie’s generosity, we did several loads of laundry, took showers, washed hair, filled our water reservoir, went to Costco and the local grocery store and generally regrouped and prepared for the next leg of our journey.

This is a lap of luxury kind of place; outdoor fireplace and sweeping backyard. A place that’s comfortable but not over the top. It’s amazing how a day can be filled with the mundane as this one was and yet it felt good to do a reset and prepare for a long trip tomorrow. After a full day of work, they returned and we caravanned to a favorite pizza place. It was worth the drive and I was grateful they had a gluten free crust option and I didn’t have to share it with anyone. Sound spoiled?

We returned home, ate ice cream from a well known local ice cream shop, sat in front of the fire, watched the Cavaliers basketball team and talked. And talked. The kids threw balls endlessly to Lily, the birthday girl who turned two today! She doesn’t seem to have an/off switch.

I truly enjoyed getting to know this family and observe the strong family ties they are building among one another. I think of the future these kids have and all the advantages they’ll start out with having had a solid family experience based on love. It’s wonderful to see.

Facing a long drive tomorrow, it’s time to sign off. Thank you for following along.
